71 days and self CBT .

All,
I am doing well and growing with emotional recovery.
I still have plenty of fears and insecurity however I am working towards.I am doing CBT therapy myself .
I am committed to reclaim addiction free and fearless life .
No matter what it's my preference.I might be out of work but a healthy body and mind is mandatory for me now.A healthy body and mind only achieves a fearless and peaceful life so no compromise!!!!
Stay cool !!!

Congratulation on 71, I'm just starting on day 2 and am determined to get to where you are and beyond. I just remembered my brother in law gave me a CBT textbook. I'll start reading it now, should be clear headed enough tomorrow.

I am almost done with DBT book I am reading and it has done wonders! Self help actually has worked better for me than therapy did as with therapy I showed up and expected them to fix me with self help I have really actively started to fix myself! Keep up the good work!

Yes Newbegining ,
It is always better to be self equipped. We need repeatition in daily life .Others just can fix crisis and it's always costing more. They will only save life in difficulties. Wellbeing is that we must create ourselves.
Let's work for life and life will pay back.
Cheers

It really works if you believe on it.Believing is the key to success. We have to change our thinking pattern .We repeat 95% old thoughts and seek new things to happen. To receive new we have to create new thoughts. So it is a tool to create new thoughts.
Let's make a fun and create a new life.
Wish you all the best .

Agree 100 percent here. Getting into a routine is very important. As hard as a bad drunken routine is hard to break, a good healthy routine is hard to break as well once it truly sinks in. It is not easy but once the healthy pattern is formed it is not hard to stick to as it is the default just like drinking used to be.

Also definitely agree with this. CBT is all about consciously working it into your thinking and behaviours, day in, day out. All you need is a good book to get you started.

Well done on your time.

Hi Columbus,
It's all about for those who are completely sober or under the limit of weekly drink. If we do drink heavily and try this it wont give us the right choice as our mood is swinging a lot .
If we want to reduce our emotional disorder, anxiety and worry,it provides informations and tools how to notice our thoughts, feeling and behaviour .Once we notice it we have a choice to let it go and alter with more encouraging thoughts. It teaches us to challenge or hypothetical worries and change the real worries.
Its a good tool to change life mindfully so never use this under influence substances.

Lets create a healthy lifestyle and get peace for rest of the life.Make a addiction to look after our lives.

How are you doing this yourself? Do you recommend a book or daily work book?

For me I would say Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies is decent. Chapter 2 alone - 'Spotting Errors in Your Thinking' - could be revelatory for those unfamiliar with the basics.
