Could you tell me what steps did you take to stay sober ?
Talk you more later,
Thanks Paulsandy. I was in a bad way, drinking 35cl's of scotch a night, every night and I had tried repeatedly to quit but always failed. I had to recognise that I was powerless to beat the cravings by willpower and that was frightening knowledge. I thought I was not going to make it.

In desperation I decided to avoid the evening cravings, I got up before dawn, ran, jogged, walked for an hour minimum. After a full days work I was eager to go to bed by 9pm which meant avoiding the worst of the cravings. It worked, and I now have 4 years plus of sobriety. It is do-able but finding the key to what works is important.

You don't need an app to chat Paul.
You don't need an app to access any part of SR,

I'm in desktop view and the entry to chat is at the bottom right hand of the page.

You will either see a grey arrow (click to 'un hide' chat) or two red and blue speech bubbles (click to get in).

Or you can just click this link

do you meant AVRT? Its the main technique of the Rational Recovery method

Its a commercial site so we can't link to it by our rules, but google 'AVRT Crash Course' and you'll find something to start you off.

There's also a lot of threads in our Secular forums - look for AVRT or RR (Rational Recovery)
