30 days today - grateful & afraid
I couldn't wait to tell you guys I made it to 30. You have been my refuge when there was nothing else. I know it's only 30 days but it took forever. Ok, here's the real deal- I went to camping for a week with my sons school. No sponsor, meetings, etc for 7 days. I've been back for 3 days but still nothing. I'm not sure if I still have a sponsor. But I know I gotta get back to 90 in 90. Or 30 in 30 or 1 in 1. Today I'm gonna hit a mtg. I'll call my sponsor. I might have to find a new one.

Also, I think the 90 in 90 is very important, and especially so if you lost your focus during that time period before. Camping in the Grand Canyon with your son is great, and I would never talk a person out of such an experience, but I wouldn't let the inertia of a week of missed meetings tempt you into a less committed half plan. Camping kept you occupied and away from alcohol, but don't let it distract you from who you are.
Being about the house, thinking you probably don't need to get back to serious action would be something my AV would have told me: "Just drag the vacation out a little longer. It will be fine. You don't need AA (or some other plan) breathing down your neck telling you not to drink all the time. Relax and chill. Put your feet up. Wouldn't a cold one be good right now? You went a whole week without a meeting or a drink. You'll be fine now."
30 days is great but also a time of dangerous vulnerability.

Hey Press- good job and glad you are back. I'm a big one for always having a sponsor- "even now" I had the situation where I'd drifted from mine and really needed a new one...best thing I did was get my current sponsor about 3 mo ago (my last was really struggling w her own stuff).
And if a sponsee of mine, or someone new-ish that I'd just started getting to know reached back out to me and told me what you just did, I'd be happy to meet and see what kind of sponsor-sponsee relationship we might have.
I'm doing 90 in 90 again now, and it's a great re-focus. sounds like you know what to do, to me!!

its your job to announce that birthday everyday for a week at meetings to demonstrate that its possible to stay sober that long
not for you but for the new(er) person struggling with 3 days
