Hi Happenstance
Many congratulations on your first week. If it helps, your first post reminded me that I behaved really badly when drinking and like many others had those feelings of guilt, shame etc, That just stopped when I stopped drinking, so over time I realised I’m not a bad person but just someone who can’t drink alcohol.
My experience was that the general anxiety also reduced over time - alcohol temporarily numbs you but then your body reacts overnight so you wake up more wired...although that’s often clouded by other hangover symptoms. Goodbye to all that....
