Good luck on the roads today vman!

Getting back in a work style routine was hard after so much time off for me too MB. I started getting up when I would normally be going to work and getting earlier nights a few weeks before I started work so it wasn't such a shock to my system...though it was still a shock lol!

Called the boss today letting them know I would be off again but would work from home tomorrow. He said might as well take rest of week off and get myself better as they have things in hand there. Part of me is relieved but there is part of me that wants to catastrophise and is telling me he is being so good about it because I am going to get sacked!! Darn my brain and it's funky workings!

So, going to get the woodfire going now as it's turned cold. I am going to spend today and tomorrow getting my house sorted and back to be organised, cleaning, ironing and all that kind of stuff and then I can chill over the weekend in a tidy and clean house which will do wonders for my head. My head is still banging from this sinus thing and I have a face that looks like I am sucking wasps (i.e. I look like I am in a bad mood lol) so good to keep this face away from the general public till I am feeling better

Have a good day all! x

Hey Manta,

"wants to catastrophise and is telling me he is being so good about it because I am going to get sacked!! Darn my brain and it's funky workings"

Remeber the serenity prayer (reading if one prefers) the first bit :
God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change

You've come such a long way.
Dont forget that !

Thanks Vinny for bringing me back to "keep it simple". It's easy to forget to take a breath, a step back and use one of the simplist tools in the sobriety shed of the serenity prayer! Worrying about tomorrow is only going to waste today and whatever is going to happen at work is going to happen. What can I change today? I can do some self care, have a nice bath and get my house clean and tidy so that is what I am gonna do! xx

morning all. it's bright & sunny here, if a little chilly.

I like the idea of a sobriety shed filled with serenity Manta. hope you can shake your sinus thing & feel better after a few days' downtime.

hope you feel better too MB

Manta, remember the HALTS stuff too when feeling stressed. Especially rest, eat, hydrate.

Morning, happy Thursday.

I like the idea of a Serenity Shed. Somewhere to go a sit and get away from everyone and everything. I often fantasize about building a small sound proof 'shed', just big enough for me, lined with sound insulating foam. Where I can sit and meditate.

Many years ago, I had a tour of the David Florida Laboratory in Ottawa. There was a large sound proof where they test space equipment. Just standing in front of it, you can literally feel the sound being sucked away. To walk inside and feel the silence, it was incredible.

Manta, I'll repeat, NeilMed sinus rinse.

Helps all sinus stuff and it's just a few dollars. As a scuba diver, you'll appreciate the salt water rinse. I can't tell you the last time I had a cold/sinus problems. I do on occasion get a sinus headache until I use the rinse and take an ibuprofen, but nothing that gets worse than that.

Miracle product. All natural.

Feel better, MantaLady. Have you ever tried putting a steamy washcloth or hand towel over your face? Doing so helps me to relieve sinus pressure.

Happy Thursday and Greetings and Love to all.

Yay.

Last time I was in the islands off Honduras diving I got a sinus headache; likely just from all the new flora/allergens in the tropics. You know how so many divers use Sudaphed? I refused to buy into that and was really glad I had the sinus rinse bottle along. I keep one in my suitcase now so it's never forgotten on a dive trip.

Pro tip: Make sure the water is almost exactly body temperature. Too warm and it stings, too cold and it's uncomfortable. Use distilled water or water that has been boiled and cooled.

It's kind of like feeding a newborn, a couple drops on the wrist to test the temp!

...and I'm another anti-med person.

See what I mean?! Big Pharma are already after me and changed the spelling of Conspiricy to the wrong spelling to make me look stoopid! Their everywhere and their coming to get me lol

I never had an issue when I was diving with sinus problems but I did get reverse block a few times and that was so painful. I need to get a diving trip booked asap as haven't been for 2.5 years now and I miss it terribly. I have a recovery friend who is teaching Dive Masters in Thailand and she said they are doing a livaboard in Burma which sounds quite interesting

Just watch out for CO poisoning in those Third World dive ops.

I can Conspiracy Theorize with the best (worst?) of them.

Haha Bim! The dive op is owned and run by germans rather than thai nationals and they do specialist diving courses and are pay and die internationaly (PADI) 5 star Centre so I would hope their level of kit maintenance is a little higher than most. But need to see what the underwater world has to offer in Burma because if it's 10 days on a boat living with 15 other people and all we do is wreck dive it's not for me. Wreck diving gives me the willies, I much prefer coral to the point I am a little obsessed with coral! x

That's really beautiful, I've never seen it - of course I've only dived Florida, Washington and Honduras. I like wrecks...if I don't have to go in them. Which, to be fair I'm not really certified to do anyway so that gives me an out.

Me on the way back in the Seychelles on the very last dive I did 2.5 years ago...I want me some of that passion, calmness and contentment I remember feeling looking out across the water!

There is plenty of the above coral in Honduras, you just got to know where to look for it as it is very small

Your dive chat made me jealous, ladies.

I am not a diver, but so want to go to vacations somewhere near the ocean. I sometimes think that everything would be better if I could walk up to the massive realm of water and just watch it.
