I done it

I did not drink last night. I have woken up today very tired as I was awake until about 3am tossing and turning but I made it. I'm going to do a big spring clean in my house today and I am going to cook my family a lovely Mexican meal tonight. Last night I got a large pizza to myself and ate it all. I just felt it would be ok to do. So today I will remain busy busy

Cleaning is a great activity for getting through the first while of getting sober. It is very symbolic of starting to clean up the mess we have made.

Keep it up!

Congrats Lola. I remember the feeling of laying awake all night on my first day and being so proud of myself that I made it through my first day. You should be proud - I'm proud of you. Incidentally, Mexican food is just about my favorite type of food. Now I'm craving it.

Sounds like a good plan and congrats on day 1. Also, the pizza sounds good. I was thinking about pizza last night myself.

Thanks everyone I appreciate the comments. I am having a nice day doing some cleaning and pottering around. I am so determined to do this. A thread I read on here yesterday about a man with pains in his liver shocked me as I also have them but bloods and ultrasound came back normal so I know it is only a matter of time before serious damage is done if not already as the pains are not for nothing. I'm looking forward to life sober 😀

Great job Lola! Cleaning is definitely a good way to keep busy. Make sure you take some time to think through a recovery plan to support you with the days, weeks, months, years ahead. You've got this!!!

Went to an indoor play centre with my daughter today. Had nice food and lots of fun. I avoided my sister in laws as they were all going to be drinking so I said I was too busy to go over. I'm just lying in bed now the day is nearly coming to an end. Going to watch a movie with my children and relax.

Hi Lola. Keep busy, go for a walk or an AA meeting. Dont let a thought dictate your actions. Just dont pick up love, stay strong and committed.

Well done on finishing a whole pizza by yourself! Kidding! Anyways, it was very helpful to me to realize the really intense cravings will pass. Practice mindfulness. Distract yourself anyway you can until the cravings pass. Hope that helps! 😀
