Back again to get and stay sober!

I have tried and failed so many times but here I am again on day one.
My drinking has been way out of control and it is slowly killing me I know. I thought I had given up on ever trying to quit again but here I am ready to give it my all this time.
I am so sick today from all the drinking so I am just hanging on for dear life to get through today. 6 hours 20 minutes to go for day one.

Thanks for being here.

What can you do differently this time to make sure your sobriety is lasting? Do you have another plan you can try? My recovery plan in early days was counseling once a week and this site every day.

Post instead of drinking.

Welcome back Six

Do something different this time, man. Maybe it's more changes or more support - but I reckon its time to turn up the heat on your addiction.

You can do this Six. Why don't you join us each day in the 24 hour thread. Also, think about joining the April 2018 group. Both of these threads will help you build a very supportive virtual network.

I'm especially glad to see you back posting because I really like your signature line; over many years and many relapses, my dad has always told me to never quit quitting.

I'm with Delilah: joining a Class thread really made a difference for me (a year sober, yay) in that my post count doubled in the first month; I spent many years here just reading (or posting drunken sobbing cries for help) and not engaging much with others. I found the smaller group of newly sobers a safer place to really get to know some folks I could relate to.

Whatever you do, don't disappear. You know how we worry...!

Hi! close to 5:30 here and I have had a rough day. I have been pretty sick
most of the day. I am sure my body is wondering what the hell is going on without the booze. I have done this enough to know that this will pass in a couple of days.
I am glad to be here and posting again,

Thanks all.....

Maybe it's worth considering doing things differently this time 6-String.
Give your self the best chance possible of making this the time it sticks.
You know the old saying re doing the same old thing and expecting it to turn out differently? It never does- turn out differently that is.

So, what can you add in this time? What is your plan of action?
What were you unwilling to do last time that you could add in this time?

BB

Good morning. I made it through day 2 and now the start of day 3.
I didn't realize how far down into this illness I had gone. My body is having a rough time letting go of the alcohol fix.
I am eating good and drinking lots of water and resting but my body is for sure in shock.
I think today should be the last day of feeling really crappy.
Staying close and really wanting to stay sober.
Thanks for the support.

Day Three. Realizing that I have no clue who I am without a bottle in my hand. It is a very depressing realization.

Yes, I 'third' the suggestion of joining a Class thread. It was a huge benefit for me ... the camaraderie, the accountability, and just being able to check in and write down my thoughts, ask for help etc.
