Good Morning!
Made it through day 3 and woke up this morning feeling a little bit more human instead of a monster.
I look forward to another day without alcohol but aware it is the weekend so I am going to be extra cautious.
Thanks to you all for the support and support. Heading over to the April group to check in.

I say spend all day reading on this site. Every time you think "alcohol" come here and read for 15 minutes. Replace that alcohol thought with "Recovery."

Glad you're back.

We don't get unlimited chances.

How are your pups?

That's awesome!

I didn't have a particularly hard time quitting. I woke up one morning and said, "UGH! Help!" I felt so awful and I knew there was a better life out there.

Keep going in the right direction. It's not cool or cosmic or better or fun to be drunk. You see where it ends up and it's not good.

Onward to Day Six, sixstringnut!

Major Triggers for me are Anger, Loneliness and Boredom. I know about halt but boredom is a big trigger for me.
On day 5 and all the stuff that I have been stuffing away starts to come to the surface.
Any words of wisdom ? Thanks

Maybe it's time to start dealing with some of that stuff that you've been trying to stuff away?

We never successfully stuff it away for long. It just starts coming out sideways and in unexpected ways. It s horrible working through it for a short time but once we've done it we really do get some peace. Running away from ourselves is just SO exhausting.

One thing I did that strengthened my sobriety was to practice gratitude every day. It made a big difference in my attitude.

I got a damn ticket for looking at my phone while driving. I was not talking or texting. Cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket for $265,00.
This is somthing I would have drank over in the past. Not today. Just accepted that I was overdue on getting caught doing this stupid behavior...
Maybe there is hope for me, lol

You can probably get that reduced if you don't have a lot of traffic violations. Especially if they can't prove you were doing anything on it. If you weren't texting or talking, that's a tough one for their side, yeah? I use my TomTom all the time when I'm driving - now I'm wondering if that could come back to bite me.

Thank God you hadn't been drinking.

That's Divine Intervention right there.
