Hello
I had my last drink roughly 12 hours ago and am going through mild withdrawal.
I am diagnosed with panic disorder with agoraphobia and have used alcohol to cope with these issues. The funny thing is it always makes them worse.
I was in a detox facility in October for 5 days after a week long bender and have been struggling with staying sober.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and welcome Dstewart
I hope you have a good therapist or counsellor helpoing you with the panic disporder.
You're right that drinking simply makes it worse.
You'll find a lot of support and encouragement here.
Post as much as you like, read around and don't be afraid to ask questions.
SR helped me turn my life around - I know we can help you too

Welcome to the family. One thing I did to bolster my sobriety was to practice gratitude every day. It gave me a positive attitude and lots of reasons to want to stay sober.
The other thing for achieving sobriety is to want to be sober more than you want to drink.
