Hey! Day 10 substance free.

No drink, no smoking, no nothing. I even made it through a 4th of July BBQ and fireworks with friends and neighbors. (carried around a nalgene bottle of sparkling water with lemon - people most likely assumed I was drinking - only me and my husband knew what it was)
Anyway the 4th was is a big deal for me, because I fell off the wagon after a few weeks sober over Christmas festivities.

I'm feeling good. Finally starting sleeping good. The last couple nights sleep was great.

Trouble is, I'm kind of bored.
Besides the 4th of July BBQ, I've been laying low and avoiding friends and neighbors. So that, along with not going outside to smoke all the time, and of course not drinking is leading to feeling bored.
I've been reading a lot. Novels. Going to the library every other day. That's about it. Really lame, but I'm thinking that's what I need right now.

Anyway I just wanted to toss some thoughts out there. I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for all your support and kind words you've given me since I've become a member (even screwing up a few times) I've always felt comfortable here.

Thanks again!

Awesome job on quitting drinking and smoking!! I find that there is so much time in the day to do whatever you want! I love reading too. Take a nice walk, go shopping, go see a movie, cook something you really love, take a nap, it's endless! Best of luck to you. Everyday gets easier and you will feel so empowered taking control back. You can do this.... keep putting one foot in front of the other

Congrats on day 10 mayeve

I'd relied on a bottle for my fun for so long it was hard to even begin to think outside that - and the things I used to do when drinking weren't fun anymore by themselves.

So...Stretch yourself a little - think about your interests and hobbies, or things you'd like to do. The skys the limit, or at least your wallet

There's a good list here to maybe start help start you off with some ideas
