I don't have a lot of advise or that many sober days in a row. I am on day 10 today and I have had so many day ones that I lost count. My only advise is in my signature.

Asixstringnut, That's some of the best advice I've heard yet! Backatcha. We cannot fail if we keep trying!

Hi Givingup54

It's my first day too well today is not yesterday. I too am trying to formulate a plan.

Step 1: Formulate the plan!
Step 2: Post on SR and keep in touch with supporters everday.
Step 3: Never stop posting. When I decided to drink I did not want to come on here but that was one of my mistakes to begin with.

The most I've ever quit was for a few months and for now I'm just trying to get through day 1.

Good luck! I hope we can all get through this together.

Welcome Velocity! Of course we can! There is also support here on other threads that people told me about yesterday. One is called the 24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 2. I'd love for you to join us there, if you haven't already. It's where everyone meets to vow 24 hours of sobriety daily. To get to it, go to "New Addiction & Recovery" Newcomer's Daily Support threads" and then "24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 261"

Another thread is "Class of June 2017" which is on this "Newcomer's to Recovery Thread Part 2" down the list.

We can do this! Welcome to your first day of sobriety!

Velocity, I saw where you'd posted in the Class of June, so I guess you know your way there, already. Cool!

How are you doing this evening? I'm having a bit of a craving. One of those evenings where I feel out of sorts, but can't pinpoint it, so I do believe it's because I'm missing the rum this evening. I am eating crackers to try to calm the urge I'm feeling. I hope you're hanging in there tonight! We can do this!
