It's a creative unblocking book, a little like "The Artists Way", but isn't just for artists at all. The author Steven Pressfield describes what he calls "resistance" - that force inside ourselves that resists positive growth in any area, from the pursuit of an artistic calling to "any activity whose aim is tighter abdominals". He indulges in a bit of hyperbole at times, but has a great sense of humor and has some very valuable things to say that apply to the recovery process.

Hi, Lascaux.
I read it about 4 years ago, and it totally rocked my world. I felt like saying "Thank you! So, I am not crazy after all. It's Resistance".
It's a kind of "before and after"book - the perception of reality changes.
"Going pro" is another great book.
And, by the way, there he gives a brilliant explanation why addiction is boring.

Thanks for the recommendation, MidnightBlue. I've mostly read Steven's historical novels but will check out "Going Pro"!
AM READING IT- strange how these coincidences happen. I am serious about getting serious with writing- about my recovery journey, so it ties in all very well. Have just finished an online intense crash course into serious writing. Resistance is one obstruction. So thanks again.
