Day 1...
Day 1...
I haven't logged into this site for over a year and a half. I had 4 years and a couple of months of sublime sobriety until last November when I decided to have a beer. And, well, it got super bad this weekend. Today is day 1 and I am glad to be back.
Thank you, Scott! Yes, 4 years was a great accomplishment. I felt very good during those years, too. So good that I thought I could "reward" myself with a beer (and much, much more). What was I thinking?!?! :-\
Hi Pip,
4 years clean has me beat...you know the deal.
Just lost a longer post because of my lame typing technique on my tablet...probably better.
It basically said.....if we keep drinking we will continue to suffer in a continuously deepening hellish way.
Thanks.

Four years is an amazing accomplishment. Thanks so much for posting. I seem to be getting a lot of pressure at the moment from "friends" who think my dalliance with sobriety has gone on for long enough. One of them said yesterday, "surely you can just have one drink? As a reward for being so good".
I thought about your post. About your incredible 4 years and the one beer you thought you could reward yourself with. It strengthened my resolve. Helped me explain that one drink isn't an option. Not for me. Not anymore. Thank you.
