Hello,
It's nice to meet you.
I'm new to sobriety after years of relapsing and my memory was one of the first things to improve. Despite the "brain fog", I'm still surprised every night that I remember to remove my makeup before bed and remembering conversations I had with people days prior.
You're in a great place with lots of support and I'd recommend making a plan for days to come in case you get cravings.

day 7
if i get thro today my first week will be over , to be honest not having that much problem without alcohol , my thing was the socializing in the pub
Having the Craic as we say here in Ireland.
however I am sure those thoughts are waiting in the wings to ambush me
have had the worst headache all night and again this morning ,i know its not dehydration as i am drinking loads of water
Are headaches normal ? and to come on after 7 days out of the blue

thanks again everyone

Day 7 - that's fabulous, jack.

I had awful headaches for a couple weeks. I was exhausted & disoriented - but everything settled down & I began to feel happy & hopeful.

Day 8

got a tremendous craving yesterday to go to the pub , luckily i was driving at the time .
Thats the first real craving I have had , I dealt with it by looking into it and wondering where it came from , and within afew mins it had gone

it worked for me

Good job Jack always always always remember to come here as soon as you hear the whisper of a craving you don't have to do it alone - Big well done getting through that though !

had the working day from hell yesterday , every piece of new equipment i worked on was faulty right out of the box , so you can imagine the stress levels went skyward
however on a positive side , when i final got everything working and felt quite pleased with myself i didn't go to the pub to regale my drinking buddy's on the eventful day i had at work

so here i am 10 days sober

Awesome stuff Jack. You're doing brilliantly.

Keep looking out for bumps in the sober road. Expect them and lean into them.

I remember well the sheer thrill of those first thirty days of not drinking. The lack of hangovers. The blissful feeling of relative well being.

Keep it up, it gets better and better.
