Maybe you can share with us what led you
to picking up alcohol and drinking for 3 days.
Something must have triggered emotions
inside, whether it was anger, disappointment,
finances, relationship, work, marriage, annoyed,
fear.....whatever it may have been, was enough
to make you reach for alcohol and not recovery
tools which could have and would have kept you
sober instead.
How strong has your recovery foundation
been for you to live your life upon on a
daily bases?
As alcoholics, we have to be taught about
our addiction and how it affects us then
learn a recovery program to help avoid
picking up poison as we live life on a sober
bases.
Its more than just not drinking. There's
got to be changes in our everyday life
style because that is not working for us
any longer.
I'm glad you returned and hope you get
back on track and begin building a strong
foundation using the recovery tools taught
and learned to use in all areas of your life to
avoid drinking one day at a time.

ACT10Npack,
I usually look at the join date whenever someone posts about drinking again, to see if it's a newbie or a veteran. I think in your case, this has been going on for over a decade, now, even before you joined, since 2008.
I scanned some of your threads, and you obviously know how to stop drinking, since you've done it many times, often for a while. Take a look at this post from January 2011, when you apparently received your second DUI:
Nothing but trouble -
Even then, six years ago, you seemed to have already realized that we all stop at stop signs, but that stopping isn't good enough. It just means that we will start again, just like at a stop sign.
Do you have any ideas for remembering that you need to quit for good, instead of just stopping? Besides possibly tattooing "never drink" on your hands?

Try not to dump on yourself over this. Just do whatever it takes to stop drinking/using and keep in mind that this early detox involves not only physical illness and pain, but mental. Your depression, self-loathing, anxiety; all can be worse right now. It will fade and you will start to feel better with time. We are with you!

you can change this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you can. The crappy feelings, the guilt, the shame, remorse, I know all those feelings so well. Tomorrow is a new day. My sponsor asked me, "What are you willing to do different this time? How hard are you willing to work at your sobriety?"
I have to really think about that. IN a 24 hour period I have a lot of time on my hands. I can be on here, meetings, calling people, listening to speaker tapes. I like listening to xaspeakers it kills time and its free. I like the AA and na ones.
hang strong. keep posting.

Hello and Welcome Back,
What have you done in the past to help you stay sober? Have you thought about rehab? Maybe you need that time to get the jump start back to sobriety.
I joined SR in 2012, and spent close to three years alternating between sobriety, and failed attempts at moderation. NYE of 2015 I finally said "Enough," and I have not had a sip of alcohol since.
I can tell you that life has been much bette this year, even days/situations that were difficult I was better able to handle without the fuzzy head alcohol brought.
I hope you can make this your last Day one.
This past year I have read and posted on here daily, and that really helped. Two threads you may want to join are the 24 hour thread, and the January of 2017 class.
You can do this, you know you can, the first few days/weeks are not easy, but you can get through them and get your life back.
