I won't tell you which song it is as I don't want to be held responsible for afflicting anyone else. But I have 4 words of a tune playing on repeat in my head - its infuriating!!

I know that 'ear worms' are relatively normal, but not like this!

Anyone else get this in early sobriety? Must be related to withdrawal?

Yep. The song varies, but I dealt with that when I was drinking and had gone too long without a drink, especially waking up in the middle of the night. And I am dealing with it periodically right now. This is Day 8 for me, Day 4 out of detox. Comes and goes.

During withdrawal they were repeating outside of my head. Annoying....and very weird.

Sometimes I get multiple songs. Ugh. Hang in there.

Thank for the replies. Only day 1 for me, very little sleep last night due to the mind working overtime. Hoping to sleep tonight, but tbh the withdrawal is nowhere near as bad as it has been in the past. Fingers crossed and good luck.

When my oldest son was in first grade, he experienced his first earworm (though they didn't have an official name for it back then).

He got so frustrated and agitated that the teacher pulled me aside at the end of the day and said "He hears music--in his head!" She recommended I take him to a child psychologist!

Someone told me to start singing "Feliz Navidad," and it will get whatever is stick in my head out, of course then, you are stuck with Feliz Navidad.

The other day it was songs by the Cure for me. Weird. I love the Cure, but not that much.

Earworms! Never heard that before, great description.

Yep, get these often and have for a long time, many mornings I wake with a song in my head.

Sometimes if I listen to the song it gets rid of it, odd, but works mostly.

I hope whatever it is for you it's a positive song
