I can't afford to beat myself up at my age . I move on now with some great advice from you all and some lessons learned from my behaviour .
I looked back at some earlier posts after i got sober in May this year and I promised my self so much , that I would do this or that and i stuck with it for a while then got complacent .

I agree. It often takes many instances of turning on ourselves across our lifespan to learn this. I spent most of my drinking life doing this very thing, and it carried over into my sobriety for a time as well. It offers nothing in the way of relief, and it's destructive and counterproductive to achieving sobriety.
The shortest distance between guilt, shame and despair on the one hand and to living a better, healthier life on the other is to immediately take action in the service of making changes to build a life that will make it increasingly difficult for us to even want to drink again.
