Thanks SR
Thanks SR
This place is a great for everyone just starting out.
I just want to quickly say thanks.
Over 8 years ago I was here, posting every day, counting the days, celebrating the weeks and months sober time.
It really does work though, every day you don t drink helps you in your recovery. For me it was just time, and then suddenly I was only here once a week instead of every day, then monthly then almost never.
It's been over 2 years since I was here which is too long as I really do appreciate all the help I had from here at the time I needed it.
Over the years my friends have changed, I do different things but I think the main thing is that now, everyone that knows me now I don t drink. Lots of people only know me as a non drinker. Main thing for me is my kids were young when I stopped so neither of them have ever seen me drunk.
Keep going is my advice, just don't be tempted to give in whatever it takes and gradually day by day it gets easier. I don t know how, it just does. It goes from all you can think about to being this tiny little thing that is still part of you but just not important. I know that is really easy for me to say but I was on day one myself at one stage.
Hope everyone is well ( if there is anyone still here from my days )
Hi Dee, see your still doing a great job.

Thanks for checking in Fizzy, fantastic to hear that you have 8 plus years of sobriety. Hope you can join us from time to time to share what you've learned over those years. Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy hearing such inspirational stories like the one you shared. I hope I can get 8 plus years sober just like you. I would be at almost a year but had a relapse not all that long ago so unfortunately I have a new sober date. One day at a time I bet added up to those 8 years pretty quickly for you. Congrats friend!
