College/NFL football

My first Saturday since the start of the sporting season! Normally, I'd be at the bar watching/hoping I win my bets. Watching my favorite teams play. Waiting on my gf(now ex) to get off work to join me in an hr or so. Drinking beer after beer..shots, sure!

Instead.. I'm at a mountain cabin. Woke up during the night a few times with the "sweats". Once up, I made some breakfast and went back to sleep for a couple hours, only to dreams of my ex.

Here I am.. day 2 drinking iced tea, watching some games, alone..and that's ok. I've always been fine alone. Normally this cabin filled with bartenders(my buddy owns a few bars),drinks flowing,noisy..but,it's so peaceful. I had asked him to let me use it for my detox, he was glad to help. He's an Alchy himself(9yrs clean) and understands. Well...here's to me knowing the scores of the games without having to look online tomorrow morning.

that sounds really awesome! i would cheerfully offer up a limb for a weekend by myself in a mountain cabin!!!

i'm glad you already see you can still enjoy the things you enjoy, and no alcohol needed!

Youve got the right idea. Youre off to a great start. Great place to detox. You're friend will be a great cornerstone for your recovery. Stay strong.
