Neuralgia or something else?
I used to drink very heavy 15-20 years ago and then stopped for a long time and then started doing it sensibly about 10 years ago. I was doing fine till I stopped to look after my mum who had been ill 3 years ago. I was doing fine but in the past year I started getting excruciating pain down the left side of my head which the doc diagnosed as neuralgia. I'm afraid that it's some after effect of alcohol even though I was doing it sensibly. Is that possible after 3 years?
Hi and welcome amuawad1
None of us are doctors here, so we can't give you medical advice.
You can get neuralgia (and neuropathy) without being a drinker though - what makes you think it must be connected?
whats 'drinking sensibly' to you?

Very concerned
I've read that alcohol is responsible for neuralgia even though it mentioned lower in the body. It's just that I haven't seen it anywhere online about this particular neuralgia causing a lazy eye or ringing in your ears. I don't know if my past is contributing towards this aswell because I used to drink 16 beers a day but now stick to 5 at the weekend nights.
