Thanks everyone. My success is in no small part due to the ability to come here to SR and not be alone.
I don't care what anyone else says, alcoholism is the loneliest thing in the world.
There is no lonelier than when you even hate yourself. The shame is just as poisonous as the booze.
Brene Brown says that "the antidote for shame is empathy". The empathy and support you can get here is truly special and personally appreciated.
Thank you all.
Much love.

Awesome post. I definitely know what it feels like to wake up at 4am everyday.... I did that for years! What is so special about 4am???? OH well if you start drinking at 4 or 5pm ... thats about how long it takes for the alcohol to get out of your system after your booze yourself to sleep...
Anyway, I'm not at 40 weeks, I'm at 40 days... and I definitely feel something clicked in me. I'm not even fighting cravings or anything. It's definitely pretty crazy, I almost feel if I had a craving I would cave.... but I have yet to have a craving... Part of the reason is reprogramming my subconsicious by doing conscious things. If you sit and watch 2 hours of anti drinking videos every night or go to 2 AA meetings a day or 3.... you are spending time reprogramming your subconscious... do things now, so that you don't have a thought problem later.... it's the only thing that works as far as reprogramming our own brains.
