So happy there's no cancer, Suze. What a huge relief.
I guess Mr. R is afraid you'll find it hard to keep your hand from getting bumped while traveling. I hope the protectors will look effective to him.

I'm very glad it's not malignant.

In the end you'll have to make your own choice about what you want your life to be like Suze - get all the info you can, maybe even a second opinion...weigh up the risks...

you know what I think

Knowing you don't have cancer sure makes my head feel better. As to making the trip, you've got a little time to think about that until the finger protectors arrive. One thing which I forgot to mention. That's the insurance factor. If travel takes you to a place where your normal insurance doesn't cover you then it's always wise to take out plenty of temporary trip insurance, available through travel agencies. To do that you may need some kind of doctor's letter as to the risk.If you aren't insured you could get into major financial costs if surgery or extended hospitalization is required. Hospital care in the U.S.is very expensive. Same for surgery. So it's best to think it over carefully. I just had a friend from here in the U.S.come down with severe diverticulosis in his colon which erupted into his abdominal cavity. He underwent surgery and was hospitalized in Amsterdam for six weeks. A real wallet buster.
What would Crocodile Dundee do? I'll bet he'd go out into the Outback and consult his friends among the "Dream People"- the Aborigines. They seem to be able to foresee the future. You can ask your surgeon for permission for a "consult" with the Dream People! See what he says.
I'm a big fan of the Croc Dundee Movie No. 1. Not as much for the sequel. Liked the part where he moved into the Plaza Hotel in N.Y.C.
Good luck. I also like the Kangaroos. Once I Emailed a lady who used to show Irish Setters in Wagawaga. Wonderful name for a dog show site!

Bill.

Very good news. My doctors are there to advise me as to this or that but the final decision after weighing everything, is always mine. There are aspects of our lives they cannot know. We are the only ones who see the whole picture of our lives of which their advice is only a part. Be happy this all sounds very good.

The insurance is the biggest problem ~ my travel insurance will not cover this.

I am a bit overwhelmed right now.

Whatever you do, it's your decision. Only you know the full story, as has already been said. Some would say play it safe, postpone it and go when your doctor says you're really out of danger. But you aren't "some people". You're you. Since I have only a few more years to live, my greatest asset is my health and my sobriety is No. 1 when it comes to that. In my earlier years I took a lot of risks, risks which I should not have taken. Yet I survived. Was someone or something watching, helping me? I have no way of knowing. Yet there was that early morning I was driving my Navy jeep alone finishing up a midnight to 8:00 a.m. watch that I woke up about twenty five feet from a superhighway concrete lane divider. Did something wake me up? Perhaps. Anyway I survived. I don't know what this has to do with your situation. But it's memories now.... memories.
Blessings and go with God whatever you do,

Bill.

Suze, I am thrilled to hear that there is no cancer. Yay!

My thought was the same as Bill's - travel insurance. If something happened to your finger, would you need immediate care? I would think so. That could be a problem. I know it's a tough decision as to what to do, so I'm sending you calming thoughts.

I don't know what to do....I'm having a panic attack.
I know I sound like a baby, but this was not good news.
I want to curl up in a a ball and hide.
I know, it is not the answer.

I think not having cancer is great news. I understand you don't like being in conflict with your Dr, but I reckon you've had amazing news Suze

There's no need to decide today Suze. Try and relax

Dear venus,

Just tell us what you need to be done. There are so many here from so many walks of life who can help you find information about options, etc. Let us do some of the heavy lifting this time.
All will be well.

firstly I am so thankful for the good news.
Second, do you need some SR bodyguards to help keep you safe along the way?
I have no idea what to say. Other than sending you loads of love and hugs.
Is your insurance not covering it straight out, or is it because of your Dr's opinion about travel. Just wondering if you thought or did the second opinion.
I totally understand if you don't want to talk about the details right now.
We're here for you xo

IT'S O.K.! YOU'RE O.K.! YOU DON'T HAVE CANCER! That's a big step. Your options are still there. Curling up in a ball is not hiding. You have less control over what happens when you're a ball! My dog can tell you that. Seriously, you've got the whole world ahead of you. You will look back and see it what it was or is. A "bump in the road". The sun will rise tomorrow. Your doctor can help you with anxiety but remember your greatest asset, your greatest investment: Your sobriety. Don't let anyone or anything take that from you and you'll be all right.

Bill.

4-7-8 breathing
keep breathing
relax, as best you can

Thank goodness it's not cancer! I am happy for that. Honestly look at your options. Ask your higher power for guidance, curl up in a ball, feel those feelings, breathe....your answer will come to you. Just don't wallow in self-pity for too long, it tends to feed the beast, but in small increments (ten minutes), you'll let go of that pressure.

I love you dearly, sweet Venus!

ps when done, get some ice cream!

Take care, Suze. Remember, no malignancy is good news.

You can move forward. You have the strength.
