Where is that girl? The one who felt normal in rehab?

My doc wanted me on Adderall, but I took a pass (with the option to give it a try if things weren't working out). I figured had already survived 48 years without it and didn't want to be on another med. (Taking daily for blood pressure.) Tried some OTC supplements, but didn't really notice a difference. Coffee and tea help a little. Never tried Strattera, though.
Lists and meditation - I hear ya. Even just taking 5 or 10 minutes during the day to remove all stimuli, shut my eyes, breathe, and think about what needs to get done in the next few hours helps my productivity. I work on the computer most of the day, and distractions are just a click away. Gotta stay focused!

I have tried OTC too. But caffeine is really effective too. Our ADHD mind is calmed by caffeine. Have you noticed your focus is better?

I really try not to be. My therapist told me also that I have a really tall and thick wall surrounding me that keeps my feelings inside and keeps other people outside. I don't share feelings very well, especially negative ones. But I feel safe here so I let down the drawbridge.
Just a note to say... Good morning sunshine !
I am so new to recovery and don't have a lot of advice to give today.
I too have a huge wall surrounding me. Seems like I work harder on the wall then my own well being.
Maybe a nice long walk today "nature walk" will do us good today.
But I'm in da south too and humidity is a thick mess.

We need to stand up and yell like Reagan "BRING DOWN THAT WALL!"
I'll try a nature walk, but like I said I am no hippie. I like my air conditioning and cheetos. And I don't like bugs! The bugs we have here in South Florida are bigger than my kids. I only like lightening bugs.

I like Lightening bugs. Little twinkles. Lightning Bug used to be my username here but I lost my password for the account after a relapse. Damn booze! That is why I am called Bug. I emailed Anna to see if I can get it back.

Thanks everyone for your support this morning while I was feeling all "woe is me" . I am not usually down like that but you all helped me get up and feel better. Grateful for SR!
Day 40 sounds like you're still giving Sobriety 100%!!
As others have mentioned there may be other things to deal with, I had to rebuild my life from scratch when I got Sober, but by not drinking I had a great foundation to make it happen!!
Hang in there!!

Thank you! My 40 days this time is a million times better than it was last spring while I was a dry drunk cruising life on autopilot. Very very different!
