Hi Ditzy,
My healthy doctor report in the Spring led me to grant myself a "free pass" for a couple of days which became more and the struggle began again.
I just got lucky that day... but unlucky in some ways because I decided that I ws probably alright with a few drinks here and there, considering.
Life is precious and so is sobriety. I messed it up for about the 5th time in a year from the hubris that comes when we learn that we aren't dying on that particular day.
Stay scared of your addiction and feel the pain that you would have felt with a bad medical exam. Our lives our precious and our alcoholic selves trick us constantly into pushing the envelope a bit farther with any sort of good news, bad development on the home/job front, minor accomplishment that sober people might have also made etc...
We need to not drink. It's that simple.
I hope you snap out of this and get real with yourself. I'm not judging just hoping. I've made a mess out of my sobriety a time or two....
best,
Jonathan
