Welcome back
My advice is - do something different, man.

Don't just think about doing something different, don't just talk about doing something different...don't just read about it...do it.

Take action - and keep that action going until you know that sober has become a long term way of life for you.

You can do this - it's a lot of sustained effort for a while, but it's worth it

Go to an AA meeting?
That was the different thing that worked for me. I hemmed and hawed and resisted it. But AA has kept me sober. Almost 5 months now.

GF - you were doing so well for a while... sorry to hear that you let life overcome you... things happen beyond our control, how we deal with them is up to us,

I know in the past that I would drink at problems... and it didn't take much for me to use most events as an excuse to drink...

having had some time sober, I am able to reflect on the changes I've made, sure, sometimes I still get angry, but I no longer drink at it...

get yourself together, get some more time sober and continue to work on yourself as a human being,
we already know that drinking does nothing to help our problems...
best wishes to you

next time you are teetering on the edge of taking a drink, post here and discuss it first - please

The progression our drinking takes just gets worse and never better. Glad you are here!

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. Today is day 2 and I'm feeling much better. I have convinced my mind that having one drink is a total lie and that I need a change of lifestyle for this to work.

When I got sober the first time, I was still visiting I was still visiting bars and places that I had no business being in. Now I know that all I'm doing so playing with fire.

What really kept me sober was the gym, posting here constantly, and picking up new skills. My anxiety is unbearable right now but I'm holding strong.

Quick update, today i woke up feeling great. I went to volunteer and was even offered a drink and i quickly declined. Im home now about to read and do some cleaning. I remember in my early sobriety the loneliness of being sober but i do want a change of lifestyle and never experience anxiety as bad as i had the past couple of days.
