Yes it will make you fat. I've lost approximately 60 pounds through diet and intense exercise since quitting. The bulk of the weight came off during the first ~6 months. There's hope!

Why not just quit the alcohol, and see what happens.

Do you think you are alcoholic?

It could be both the alcohol and the drug, but it's hard to know.

I worked out hard when I was drinking and even with all the endurance events I was doing, couldn't outwork the amount of calories I was putting in my system, esp as I got older.

Like others, I'd also eat terrible food during a night of heavy drinking. I'd usually put on 10 pounds during my favorite beer season. I usually went on WW to manage my weight after the holidays.

With giving up drinking, weight is no longer an issue.

Adds empty calories with no nutritional benefit. You can possibly burn this off if you are athletic.

Makes you eat unhealthy "Hey let's go to McDonald's for 4 double cheesburgers!!!"

Slows your metabolism

Taxes your live, so you process stuff more slowly & not as well.

Yes, bad. I don't know what olanzapine is, but I can't imagine taking that with alcohol is a terrific thing that's wonderful for your health.
