Jsbodhi: that van choosing the spot right beside you in an empty parking lot is super creepy.

I am well thank you! Sober which is good. Just finding the days and evenings very lonely. Have had opportunities to socialize but no desire to.

I have been off work for a few weeks so the loneliness and boredom is hard. Back to work soon I hope to keep me busy.

Early sobriety means summoning your grit. But remember that it is all very doable. And if socializing with others means you'll be near drinking, probably best to decline invitations for the time being.

Just hang in there, KTM. Choosing sobriety is something you'll never regret. In fact, these are the early days of a whole new life. A better life.

There have been a number of days I realize that I have not spoken a word to anyone. It's a good thing I have a cat to talk to. He is always happy to see me.

I have days like that, too.

Be careful about getting isolated. Are there friends or family you can call? Or have a get-together for coffee or a movie?

I do have friends available but they are all married with kids so very busy. If they do get away the first idea from them is to get lunch which is always at a bar. I declined an invite for "lunch" today because I do not want to end up in a bar which is attached to a liquor store. It would just be too easy to grab a bottle on the way out the door.
My family is only an hour drive away. I do speak to them fairly often but that also is a source of stress for me so small doses is better.

Not yet. I'm afraid. I have always been a private person in general so it would take a lot to get me there. I know I should but that would be a giant leap for me. I will look into it. I'm sure there must be meetings here.

You don't have to say anything. They will ask if they have any first timers there but you don't have to raise your hand.

KTM, just give a meeting a try. No one will make you say anything. And you might just find yourself wanting to open up. If nothing else, listening to others talk about their experiences can be good - you'll hear something very close to your own story and you won't feel so different or alone.

I think I'm going to relax and watch The Conjuring before I fall asleep.

G'night everyone.

Morning /evening weekenders.

Good workout yesterday, bumtrons surely got their arse kicked.

Mood is still so so, but maybe it's not that bad.

Hugs to all.
