hello from a very lonely sad person
Hi, I would like to join and become part of something. I seem to be mentally addicted to drinking boozy beer, don't know how to un-program myself...I'm 64, on the verge of retiring, am divorced, still living in the house I lived in when i was married (he left, and I've been here, and stuck, which I think drinking has a lot to do with being stuck)...want to change, but I feel so utterly alone.
You're no longer alone. Welcome to the family. I got sober over six years ago and don't regret a minute of it. Only wish I'd done it sooner.
I hope our support can help you get sober for good.

Welcome Karleen.
You are not alone,we are here for you.
Drinking Alcohol used to seem like such a fun thing to do.
But, in reality it stagnates our lives.
Come here and talk anytime, it's worldwide. There's always somebody around this big blue and white globe that will spend some time with you.

Hi karleen,
We are here for you.
While not there f2f, we are w you in heart.
We relate to your addiction. We all have it.
I went to my first AA meeting in 7 months today.
That is the first place I recommend you go. You will find help there.
I am 51 and I understand about feeling older and weak.
I quit because my health was failing. I was a stroke waiting to happen.
Are ready to quit drinking yet?

We're here to listen & help if we can, Karleen. Knowing I was no longer alone helped me find the courage to change my life. You'll find plenty of encouragement here - glad to meet you.

Hi Karleen. I can relate. Just a little younger than you. A surprise divorce sent me down a dark place. I have been sober just over a year. A visit to the ER really scared me. Although I have made progress I am still lonely and depressed. I do not live that far from you. I was finally able to sell the family home and now have my own place but felt just like you not that long ago.
Welcome to SR, we're all glad you are here.
Loneliness is certainly a challenging feeling, one that I experience everyday. It is imperative that you remind yourself that you are not alone, and that other people are out there going through the very challenge you feel right now. You've come to the right place, and I sincerely hope you keep coming back and use us all for support.
