Day 3 and taking Refuge Vows!
It's the start of day 3 here for me. Not much I know, but I'm feeling very settled and focused this morning.
Part of the reason is that later today I'll be taking Refuge Vows and thus formally embracing Buddhism. It's a natural progression for me, one thats been building over the last 16 years, so it's not like it's an impulsive decision in any way.
I'm not expecting that these vows will 'save' me but I do think it's going to add focus and direction to my plan for being sober.
Not sure exactly of what I'm saying, just that I feel excited and hopeful, which is something I haven't felt for a long time. I think this time, it may just have actually clicked and sunk in that I no longer have to drink and that's a very, very good thing.
