DuhDave is back on the Wagon.

I'am not going to make a big "TaDoo" abt it. It's Day 3 actually. I just wanted to check in and hang close to my buds here on SR.

I have reached the point that I really have no choice now. I have to stop the insanity. I HAVE to stop it. In a way it's kind of "liberating". I have seemed to get a real grasp on the acceptance part of my addiction now and for the first time, truly do not feel I'am still in denial.

Yes, I have a plan in place. Now is the time. This quit is it. Once and for all it has to stop.

It will.

Thanks to my SR buds...for never giving up on me.

Welcome back, I wish you strength.
Maybe try not to see getting sober as missing out on anything, much more a bid for freedom.
Good luck.

Good to see you here Dave. The whole giving up idea. Good in theory. Sucks in practice.

Acceptance was key for me, Dave.

We never give up on anyone... I know you can do this.

Welcome back Dave. I'd agree on your take on the acceptance piece as well. If you can truly accept things for what they are, it gets MUCH easier.

Hope you can stick around SR and congrats on day 3!

A wise decision, DuhDave. Stick close. Don't take that first drink no matter what.

Glad to see you back Dave. Just try not to see it as "going on the wagon" because people "fell of the wagon" all the time. Try instead of seeing it as committing to a very positive lifestyle change.

You can do it!

Thank You everyone for your kind comments.

I was blogging (my new sobriety journal) to myself yesterday commenting on how bad the brain fog is this go around. It's really rough. Just doin "Stoopid Stuff" ! I made comment that I also attended our Tuesday night online meeting but I could'nt remember the topic. Those who attended will know what I mean.

Yes...thats why I'am called...DUHDave.

It will be Day 4 in abt 1 hour and 15 mins. Guess I'll stay up and "Ring" it in with...a glass of milk.

Thank You my friends !

Hi DuhDave (that's really funny, by the way), you can do this! Any day sober is better than a day drunk, so take all of them you can get! Good for you, having a plan. Drinking is not an option for me anymore, either. It's way easier to shut the door entirely than to leave it open a crack.

Hi gang ! hope all is well with you and your's.

Day 5 for me and the brain fog and fatigue is really bad ! The worst I've ever experienced on former quits. Really felt terrible earlier today ! I think I really need to pay more attention to my diet and stop "Grazing". I need to eat clean and good...especially breakfast !

Not real motivated to do anything now. Thats Ok. I'am giving myself a little rest and relaxation for a few days. I'am just being good to myself and being easy on myself. I'am sure the "Blah's" will lift soon.

So I'am enjoying a cup of "Sleepy Time" tea now and waiting for the "Witching hour" of 12 midnight and I'll ring in Day 6...then it's off to bed.

Thanks for dropping by.
More later.

DD
