I always thought I had a few triggers; my job, my wife, kids, life in general. Once I quit, I figured out my only trigger was really just booze.

I agree duane1, but there are times in our lives when certain stimuli can 'trigger' a bad thought that may lead to an unwanted behavior. In this case for me, that would be substance abuse or physical harm. But for others, certain events/emotions can 'trigger' other actions that we wish to avoid.

Though triggers should not be used as excuses to continue to participate in undesirable behaviors, however it is important to recognize them in order to be properly prepared to avoid the unwanted behavior.

That's all I meant by mentioning triggers.

So glad you dumped the wine. Don't let your AV blind you with excuses. There are other methods to get sober, not only AA.

Still feeling awful but I am going to try and go to work today. The sad part is that I have a job interview this Thursday to change careers and I don't even know how I will be able to prepare for it if I cant even get myself to work.
