Congratulations, I'm so happy for you. 3 years is fantastic.
We share the same sobriety date. 1 had one year yesterday.
I tried to start a thread for myself for the past 24 hours to celebrate 1 year but have been unable to, it keeps giving me an error.
enjoy your celebrations.

Wow, thank you all very much!!! I had a huge smile on my face and laughed out loud at some of the cute posts. This really made my day.
Casey, I laughed out loud at you knowing me before I was a hippopotamus, lol.
Bunny, I love that hippo.
Dharma, Mr. Rogers!! Haha, he got me through my surgery recovery back in January!
Mesa, I love that Kool & The Gang song.
Thank you all!!! I love it.
I'm about to have cinnamon cake and a cup of chai. Then maybe a candlelit bubble bath. I have worked hard outside in the garden center all day. It's time to relax and celebrate. After my cake and chai, I'll probably have a big glass of seltzer and blood orange juice on the rocks.

I struggled for a bit trying to find the right way to phrase that and finally decided to just make it as awkward as possible. Glad you took it the way it was intended and congrats again! Enjoy your relaxation time.

Sometimes I write in my mind before my fingers can get to the keyboard. So, today, at work, this morning, actually, I was writing a response to this thread. It's short and sweet. But it's from my heart.
The support and friendship I've experienced here at SR were crucial to me in early sobriety. I know we all feel and know that SR is a special place, but it was ... paramount in my early recovery to experience acceptance, understanding, empathy, and friendship here in a protected environment. I'd become completely fearful, discouraged, distrusting, anxious, angry, and even paranoid in the latter part of my alcohol addiction. With your support and caring, I got sober and stayed sober. I experienced the grieving process I needed to let go of my mother. I somehow half-blindly made my way through the first four years of my marriage, lol. I adopted two dogs and made it through some emergency situations with the puppy. Again, you all were there. I buried my 20-year old cat recently. And I made it through jaw surgery. You all held my hand through it all. With tears in my eyes and with a happy feeling in my heart, I want to say: THANK YOU
XOXO,
Jennie
