How long were you in? Do you have some post-detox support and direction for going home sober?

First off, welcome to soberrecovery. There is some wonderful support to be found here. Glad you joined us.

Are you hungry? Are you hydrated? Those are usually the first things I check myself on when I get those thoughts. Many times a simple drink of water or snack is all I need to get past those moments.

Maybe a shower or a hot bath or a long walk would do you some good if hunger/dehydration isn't the issue. Or keep posting here once a minute if you have to. We've all been in your shoes before--some of us are there right now--and we're here to help and support you if we can.

You really don't have to take that first drink today. No matter what. And as long as you don't take that first, you don't have to worry about the second or third or tenth one that would almost always follow. Wishing you the best and hope you'll stay close.

Remember what you just went through.

You need some kind of plan.

Welcome GB. Like the others have said, what's your plan. You've got to occupy your time, map out your days so you can beat this. I stayed very close to this community during my early sober days. That saved me.

You can do this, dig deep, commit and don't drink today.

Welcome to the family. The longer you stay sober, the less you'll think of drinking.
