No doubt Weekender March 11 part 1
Welcome to Weekenders LostLilly, alcohol is no friend of mine either, I was a lousy drinker and have no business being one
Here's a song from the Britfunk scene of the late 70's/early 80's MesaMan will notice that bass player Pete Maas has a similar sound (though not playing style) to Level 42's Mark King.

In other News, Alcohol + not helping around the House is not a good idea on Int'l Womens Day. I emptied the Dishwasher...

Ugh, my mother would drive anyone to drink.
Bad enough that my AV has been screaming at me so loudly that I ended up taking an Antebuse tonight.
I gave my dad a piece of paper with the contact details of the B&B. He didn't look at it, just said "Fine" and put it in his pocket. Then he said "actually if you are busy with your friends you don't have to phone all the time. Just send the occasional text so I know you are still alive". I said "ok that's great".
Then my mom goes "be careful and don't touch alcohol, sure you won't?"
So I just looked at her and said "I am working very hard and trying to build a new life and some kind of future for myself. Why do you insist on dragging up the past when I want to have a little fun with my friends?"
So she said "I am sorry. I just worry about you so much".
I told her "well that's not my problem, it's yours. I can't stay locked in this house 24/7 just because you worry about me".
So my dad intervened and said "that's enough now. Leave it and enjoy yourself".
It is actually very very freeing to say what's on my mind instead of keeping everything bottled up and I am going to do it more often.

That Romainian woman is a master of understatement "he was pretty annoyed"
GettingSmarter - your pig looks a bit like Alfred Hitchcock
Saw a news bulletin -it seems that there is some serious flooding in Louisiana. I don't think anyone on this thread lives in Louisiana so hopefully no one here is affected
Just scarfed half a packet of delicious Japanese black sesame rice cakes, the sticky ones with plum syrup. Bizarrely the ingredients say "may contain traces of crustacians"

Tetra, good for you on expressing how you feel to your mom. Moms and Dads worry about their kids, that's what we do. The more sober days, sober events, sober outings you get under your belt, the more your mom will realize you are strong enough to make your own way. But even if she never realizes this, you are better with each sober day that passes.
Have fun on your trip and stay strong.

YAYAYAYAYAYAYYYY Tetra! That was awesome! I'm very proud of you and I bet that felt great! Very well done, I am honestly sitting here with a smile for you!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend away, and please post photos. You take such great pix!
SoberP, what the what? Why so few hours? That's crazy. Boooo, I hope it gets rectified.
You guys, seriously, I didn't adult at all today. Ok one work prospect related phone conversation but that's it. I got on the couch with a bag of jalapeņo lime peanut brittle and that's all that's happened today. I don't have to feel guilty about this, but you guys know how I am. Ugh.

Evening gang!
Nearly Friday and nearly the weekend!
Taking Mrs B and Junior on a surprise trip to a cottage in the mountains to mark a number of anniversaries. This will be juniors first proper holiday. It's also a return to the location where we first found out that junior would be arriving some day. Not much planned: just hanging out in the cottage and maybe a little hill walking, within reason.
