No AA here.
And it would, for various reasons, be a challenge for me to go to any group.
I was going to argue the first point - but I think the second point makes it clear face to face stuff is not something you'd consider.

I'm not saying you need AA specifically, but I think you need support too - you can use SR - join a monthly group and post daily, for example.

There's also online meetings - of AA and other recovery groups.

There's absolutely no reason why you have to do this alone, or any reason why you can't build up a recovery plan and start today.

All you have to do is commit to action, and jump in with both feet

Day 3 complete. I had some very bad news on the professional front. Wallowing in quite a bit of self pity and general negative thoughts. Why do things never work out for me? Why am I a perpetual loser? Really self indulgent and pathetic. I need to sleep on it and let a little time put things in proper perspective. There is a tide in the affairs of men. I will handle this low tide. And rise again. Better. Stronger. Happier. Sober.

That self pity and general negative thoughts were part and parcel of drinking for me Horatio. They even hung around for a little while after I quit.

The best thing you could do for yourself physically emotionally and careerwise is quit.
