I stay sober on the weekends the same way I do during the week....

by living my life in sobriety by choice... and therefore, not drinking!!!

It turns out, when I don't drink - I stay sober.

When I stay sober - I love my life.

When I love my life - I don't want to drink.

So the choice of sobriety flows automatically.

Oh yes I remember the early days and months when the weekend had been drinking time so it was hard to change the habit/expectation. I literally scheduled all of my time with activities -- solo or otherwise. I changed what I did, I didn't go out socially or to restaurants for the first few months.

Now the concept of drinking on the weekend (or any time) seems crazy, lose my free time to hangovers and being drunk? No way!

Focus on the prize.

Question, if you cannot purchase beer, I am assuming you cannot purchase anything...how do you navigate that?

My brother lives practically next to me and when I need to do groceries or buy anything else, he comes along and pays using my card.
