Poem
Ok, I'm not a poet. The following poem is terribly written. But it just came to mind. And I wanted to share it. Don't expect it to be good in any way. It just helps me in my recovery to share this.
----
The darkness, the terror, the scare,
Feeling good, not even being rare,
But non-existent.
It seemed to be there,
Numb from the beer consumption,
But there was no happiness there,
Just my life moving towards destruction.
And I wasn't even aware,
Just get drunk and not care,
My feelings numbed.
The worst parts were waking up sober,
In a hangover and even worse, fear,
I just decided to not do this over,
And over, and over, and over again.
Now life is wonderful, things are possible,
Things I've always wanted to do,
I didn't think they would be possible,
Until, alcohol, I said goodbye to you.
