Day 9!
Day 9!
Well, it basically took me falling apart with liquor on my breath for a friend of mine to intervene. She wasn't taking no for an answer.
A sadness overtook me for the last few months, sneaking drinks for any reason I saw fit, and then fox hole prayers to get me straight. The need to feel numb just to face the day, to get thru the day and then to put the day to bed.
Blatantly lying to those around me, until it became too much.
It was too much! I cannot believe how relieved I was to look the er dr in the face and say I just can't do this anymore! Finally someone is listening to me!
Fast forward to a successful psych appointment, adjusted meds, AA meetings daily, working with others, and here I am 9 days later! A new found hope!!!! It feels sooooo good!
Heading to a speaker meeting tonight! Fellowship, friends and a night of laughs ahead, maybe some tears too, but I'll be sober!
Just keep pushing through it!

Drinking is exhausting isn't it? Physically and mentally. It sounds like you got to that point of incomprehensible demoralization.
Keep doing what you are doing and congrats on the relief you have found!

Thank God for good, compassionate friends! I’m glad that you have someone in your life that took the time to intervene. Nine days is great progress ontherightpath, one day at a time (ODAAT) will keep moving you forward in the right direction!
