OK...now what?
Me.
I did my first month of sobriety alone - I suspect, getting slowly and subtly overwhelmed by life without my old crutch alcohol. Almost like a slow-motion film of someone chucking away their crutch, balancing on one leg for short time, and then falling over.
After that first month I got myself to AA and on here, and started finding different strategies and tools that would help me learn to deal with life. I've heard it said that alcoholics seem to be really good at achieving really hard stuff, but pretty rubbish at dealing with everyday life; relationships; emotions; plodding on with work; etc. That was def true of me. My 'recovery' has been learning to do all that stuff without opting out through alcohol for time-out, and without getting gradually overwhelmed.
That PAWs article really helped me as well.

Welcome to the Forum!!
The what now? is the reason why you wanted to quit, to live your life free from alcohol, but if like me your life didn't have much in it as all you did was drink then it's gonna take some thinking about what you now want to do, new hobbies, new interests, new goals, new projects.
Sobriety isn't merely abstinence, we now need to rebuild a life!!
