Sobriety Planning on the Fly
When I went to my detox appointment today, they were not able to start an IV, so I end up with a "day off." Several hours to kill of unplanned free time, only 6 days into sobriety.
From plenty of experience I know AA is not helpful, and even a bit toxic, to me. BUT... it's something you can do almost immediately so I'm going to pop into a meeting to kill and hour or two.
My other improvised plans include a vigorous walk and a movie.
I texted my recovery coach immediately when my plans suddenly changed, so he knows I'm on my own for the afternoon/evening.

Wednesday is the end of my stay here in the Atlanta area. I'll continue with recovery back home in Syracuse.
I'm not sure if the day I missed today will be "rescheduled" to the end of the cycle or not. I'll get this sorted out on Monday once the full staff is back in the medical office.

Headed out to see The Danish Girl, starting in a half hour. Hopefully it's long enough that I can skip the meeting, LOL!

The movie killed enough time that I believe exercise, dinner, SR reading/posting and television will carry me through to bedtime.
I thought the movie, The Danish Girl, was done tastefully and compassionately. It's not a "fun" movie; the subject matter is very serious.
