IT GETS BETTER!

Really, it does. I have almost 7 and a half years now. I commented on this thread wayyyy back in July of 2016, when I had about a year and a half.

Thanks for bumping, Sao.

Have 2 years and 11 months of hard-earned sobriety with lots of support from the great people in this forum. Still, somehow, I missed this. Thank you for bumping it, Sao. Great read for everyone.

Nothing has ever felt as hard as the first week. After that, it has only gotten better. So much beter.

Great to "see" you Venecia!

For me it took a couple of months before the cravings eased, I was drinking half a bottle of whiskey 6 days out of 7, more at weekends so I was pretty hardcore but even for me the cravings did stop. It is the best thing I have ever forced myself to do.
