Ken - I may have missed - did you see Tommy on Sunday? My running gear is bright red and sort of retro - no way this 55 year old is going to squeeze into to lycra.
I look like a Soviet Era coach circa Munich Olympics 1972
Hey Sao... Yes saw Tommy. Had the usual coffee. He wants to come down and be at the finish line Sunday but I told him I would stop by. He is slow and not steady on his feet for being in that kind of crowd.

I know that look you were going for... HAHAHAHA

Sorry to hear about your cousins partner, tetra.
Weasel...you are rock and rolling! You will look snazzy in your red snoopy sweats.
Well..I got the camera. I only had an hour to fiddle with it before I had to come to work. I love it already. Yay!!

Yes, I'm very sad for my cousin.
After all the struggles they went through. They had their civil partnership a couple of years ago and when the new marriage law was passed earlier this year, they were hoping to have a proper wedding.
Even my 90 year old Grandmother lived long enough to vote yes in that referendum.
Life is hard for everyone.

That is an interesting look Weasel!

My traccy is something like this though I don't think even I looked as bad as Rob Ford (the guy on the left)

The North African meatballs...

Really tasty! So many different spices. I ended up using 1/2 turmeric and 1/2 paprika instead of the saffron. I used jasmine rice instead of couscous.

The cloves and cinnamon totally make the dish, and the fresh cilantro and parsley and scallions too.

Here's the recipe link: http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1...ican-meatballs

Dinner tonight is most,y hands-off, because I'm babysitting the granddaughter. Baked rice, baked chicken, frozen veg of some sort done in the microwave. Food. Nothing as delicious as SP's meatballs.

Believe me, Marty, that's not our typical weeknight meal Ours is typically chicken, rice, sweet potato, veg, salad.

My usual is pretzels or popcorn. I think I am seriously lagging on the food self-care.

It's a slice of multigrain bread.

I wouldn't cook this way if Mr. Potamus didn't expect it. I'd make much simpler meals. But the meatballs were all for me He isn't usually very fond of "ethnic" meals. He'll eat them, but he says he has to "get used to" it, lol. And there's this confused look on his face while he eats, so I have to deal with all that...

His ideal meal is a typical southern food spread. Like, 5-10 different food items set out on the table. So time consuming. It's just a real pain to shut him up with food.

Meanwhile, my fancy cookbooks sit on the shelf collecting dust Makes me sad.

Welp ~

You know that Bad Day you thought you were having? This Person's having a worse one. A little Mercedes vs. Deer 'interaction' on the way down to the local Dog Park. No Owner in sight, and I suspect I know them. The Antifreeze was still dripping out the trashed Radiator. There was this Debris Trail still in the Road, so I stopped to toss that Flotsam & Jetsam to the side. It was the sort of distraction that made me want to steer into the Ditch because you're weren't sure what de hay you were running over. I recall that Marty just related this same sort of Deer Story.

Hair was stuck under the Mercedes Emblem, and assorted ruined Components. I suspect it's Mechanically salvageable, but perhaps not Economically so by the time all the Decades-old Parts are sourced. The Emblem that Gangstas Hacksaw off to use for a Necklace or Belt Buckle - as discussed here recently - was bent way back on the Hood Front. I couldn't find the Deer, but I'm sure it's expired from this forceful collision. I looked for it in order to put it down, if necessary.

I cruised on to pay off our Driveway Graveling Invoice. Remembered my Checkbook. Forgot my Wallet. The Gravel Company Guy loaned me $20- so I could hit the Store. Just how we roll 'round here. We still owe them thousands [Invoiced next Month], so he knows I'm good for it.

A favored Pup was at the Dog Park, so lotsa Rollin' & Tumblin' went down. Pups be tired.

Dayum, SP. Good lookin' Chow, there. You'll make someone a great lil Wife someday!

Yes, I did think I was having a bad day.

I'm a bit unsettled tonight.

I don't know why.

Mesaman, your post is food for thought, as usual.

My granddaughter does not like not getting what she wants. I suppose that's typical. But grandma is worn out already. Nugget will be here until morning. Her mama is working until the wee hours. She will come crash on my couch and take the baby home in the morning. I'm hoping for an early bedtime.

Thank goodness my son is here to amuse her a bit while I get a breather.

That is very sad about your cousin's partner, Tetra. Condolences to you and your family.
