Made it through the weekend!
Happy to report that I was able to go out to a party on Halloween and happily avoided alcohol. Well, mostly happily there were free shots being given out, among other things, and my friends were drinking before we went and I may have felt a sting of temptation here and there, but I stayed strong and waited out the cravings until they went away!
I probably shouldn't have gone to the party, being so fresh into my sobriety (this time anyway), but a few people had purchased their tickets on the premise that I would be there and I felt bad backing out at the last minute.
My husband and I had a good time dancing and hanging with friends. Two of our drunk friends were annoyed that we made them leave "early" (it wasn't that early), but I didn't really care. I spent my time there dancing and checking out the weirdness. They spent most of their time at the bar, drinking and smoking, which they could have done for free anywhere (well, without a cover, I mean). So I did not feel bad dragging them away from the glamorous night they thought they were having.
AND I had to be up early on Sunday, which was no real problem! I was very tired because I got little sleep the night before, but no hangover and no regret. It made my sleepy day downright amazing, just because I was so happy and proud of myself!
So congrats to any that avoided the temptations the holidays bring and to those that didn't, it's a brand new week and a brand new chance to commit to your sobriety!
