Imagine how your family is going to look at the cop when they find out she's hiding your secrets.
........ maybe they'll realise that she actually cares about you so instead of worrying, step up and prove her faith in you correct.

You can't change the past, Lennox, but neither are you doomed to repeat it. Don't forget what happened but don't beat yourself up or let it define you. Every day presents another opportunity to reinvent yourself as the person you want to be. Seize hold of the chance to make a change.
Wow....you guys are all a bit amazing. So just an update...I have found a meeting I am going to tomorrow eve - just going to go for it! As for the cop...I have sent her a bunch of flowers just to say sorry and thank you at the same time - I know it's not much but just a gesture.
I loved reading that all of you find such enjoyment doing things sober...I would love to reach that stage.
I think I need to pull my socks up as they say and take responsibility for my life...as stated earlier I do not want to be defined by this...it's going to take a long time...I will get there...I hope.
Thanks again everyone! I will let you all know how my meeting goes!

Welcome back Lennox!!
It sounds like alcohol is doing you no favours, but you can draw a line under the past and write a new happier chapter to your life.
You're not alone, SR is full of many people who know and understand, you're amongst people who can help!!

Pro Tip - at your meeting, ask for a copy of the Big Book. Meetings are a great place to get in-person support. The Big Book is a great way to learn a LOT more deeply and explore the tools and the lessons and the ins and the outs of alcoholism on your own time.
