My addiction is alcohol, but I thought maybe I would just reach out to say that you are certainly not alone. I was in a 35 day inpatient rehab where I was with people from all waljs if life and different addictions.
Specifically, there were quite a few medical professionals I met who were there for opiate addiction. A nurse I knew in particular, was caught taking drugs from the hospital. There was also a doctor who was injecting himself with morphine in the broom closet.
Dont think you are a bad person or anything. Those drugs are very powerful and addictive.
