It's Different This Time
It's Different This Time
Hi Everyone,
Today is day 5. And it feels different from any of the many other times I have tried to quit. It's because I am now open to sobriety, and I wasn't before.
Tried meetings in the past and always found some reason to not like them, but I am approaching them with an open mind, finally, and am yearning to attend them now, instead of dreading them.
Have also been talking to other alcoholics openly, not hiding who I am anymore. And I am not freaking out about what others think of me. That was an excuse I used to drink.
Thanks, all, for all your shares, I love reading them and I am learning from each and every one of you.

Great job Turningleaf! Until I accepted this as an ongoing problem and one that I will always carry with me, I couldn't succeed at getting better.
Good for you and it sounds like you are on the right path!
