Hi again
Hi Coffeeboy welcome back to SR, I understand the bordeom, I still have a glass in hand but its not filled with alcohol, it helps. Ive actually started to enjoy doing things Id otherwise find boring whilst drinking. I think that therapy is the way to go for you, I couldnt be doing this without support. I think a plan of action which suits you will help. Good luck coffee boy keep posting let us know how you are getting on x
Yep my friend.
Drank for 37 years. Progressed much like you.
Discovered alcohol and found it to be the solution to my shyness, self loathing, disapointment in myself.
Drank for a number of years becoming the life and soul of the party.
Happy Jack, Always kidding, good hard drinking chappie!!!
Then came trouble.
Lost ********, police cells, domestic violence, warnings at work, missed days and nights.
Then came the sickness. Fear, self hate, madness in alcohol. Tears and pain. Nausea, wasted muscles, starvation dehydration. Fun,fun, fun.
Then came the losses. Marriage, friends, career, home, family and self respect.
Then came the decision .
I want to quit.
Then the solution. AA, Sober recovery, willingness to change and spiritual development.
Sober today.
It can be done and you can most certainly do it.
Before it just becomes a gut wrenching regret from a final hospital bed.
Be safe and have another go. Always.
