Doluxetin (cymbalta)

Hello guys,
I was taking Amitriptylin(I'm suffering from depression and anxiety ) for about 7 months and becsuse of the side effects my Dr had to change it to D oluxetin(60 mg). It's about 3 weeks now and I feel really weird.I can't sleep and I'm thinking about drinking..."just a glass of wine before bed to help me sleep"
I'm so scared.
I know we can't give medical advice on this site but can you please share if you had any experiences with antidepressants and sobriety?

Well, I know that your antidepressants aren't able to do the job for which they are intended while you are adding alcohol to the mix.

In my experience, depression and anxiety were caused by alcohol. Abstinence and a few new coping skills have been all I needed.

Talk to the person that prescribed you the medication and report side effects you are experiencing. They should be offering you regular reviews if you changed meds.

Stay well!!

Drinking and anti depressants don't mix well, last tie I did that's was sick for days. I think I may have had alcohol poisoning......so definetly not recommended. See you doctor about your symptoms.

Yes, it's a good idea to talk to your dr about your symptoms.

Good to see you Aistar - why stick around and fight back against those drinking urges?

I have no experience to share with Cymbalta tho, I'm afraid - I hope your Dr will be able to help

I've been on antidepressants for quite some time. Both you mention, I'm currently taking. For me, my urge to drink is my addiction talking, not the medication. Hopefully you are also engaging in some type of counseling. I suggest talking to your doc as well as your counselor/therapist.
