Newcomer, Building Trust with HP
Hi there...
Quick run down... judge if you want it's none of my business...
- 38 Days Sober Today
- I had 22 months a little over a year ago
- I've been in AA for 5 years
- I did the 12 steps before
- I would like to do them again with an online sponsor, any suggestions on that?
- I have a sponsor who I call every morning
- I get at least 4 meetings a week
- I pray
- I have Bipolar 1
I'm just wondering about how folks increase their faith, belief, and trust in their HP?
Thanks,
Seeclear

Hi SeeClear - Glad you're here posting.
For me it starts with the third step - Made a decision........
My sponsor suggested I memorized the 3rd step prayer, which I did. This beautiful, simple prayer is the root of my relationship with my HP. It is part of my daily meditation and one of my primary tools in my spiritual tool kit throughout the day.
If I can start to be released of the bondage of self, I stand a chance. If I recognize the world doesn't not exist simply for me and my needs - if I learn to care about others and their circumstances things change.
Thanks for the post - keep coming back

Congratulations on 38 days sober.
I have reconnected with my spiritual self in recovery. It was an essential part of recovery for me. 'The Seat of the Soul' by Gary Zukav really helped me to connect with my soul.

Hello. Congrats on 38 days! I increase my contact with ny higher power by praying...especially in the morning and at night...thanking god for another day and asking for help staying sober for anothrr day. At the end of the night I thank god for keeping me sober anothet 24 hours. Then i repeat it daily.
I also do my best to do the right thing. I try to live my life through the spiritual principles of the program. Honesty, hope and trust, faith, courage, willingness, love, openmindedness.
Doing the right thing brings me closer to my higher power. Look up the 4 absolutes. They are from "The Oxford Groups". Dr. Bob and Bill W. Used to go to the oxford groups before they started AA. Anyways look thrm up. I try to live my life by those 4 things too.
