Job more difficulties

The paperwork in this job is overwhelming, I'm so behind with everything and my manager really feels that this should not be the case.

I've had yet another difficult discussion with him today around work not being up to scratch and that it's a performance issue, I have accepted help from some other managers to steady the ship.

It makes me feel incompetent and stupid like I can't cope, I'm working extra hours. It feels to me like I'm working hard but I mustn't be because I'm so behind!

Stewy im sorry your workload is heavy sometimes no matter what we do things can get on top reading your post i saw that you have accepted help from other managers that proves 2 things

The other managers realise its a lot of work

Your accepting help to get the work done

And your working extra hours

It could be your manager is under pressure himself & is taking it out on everyone else

Theres only so much that can get done in a day from what your telling me your working your socks off

Do you feel you could be doing more ?

And your not incompetent

I'm at a loss as to what else I can do, I know I have to tackle this head on. I was upbeat and positive today after taking advice here yesterday. Good start at work and then my manager called to deliver the bad news. Performance management.

I'm working hard, putting the time in and tending to things I feel are crucial in my areas of responsibility.

Things do seen to be escalating and with changes in the company I can't help but think I'm going to be the fall guy. I'm getting better at trying not to take it too personally I thanked my manager for the opportunity he has set up for me. Yeah, the one where he's asked a couple of people at my own level to come and school me on my paperwork.

I'm sorry, I'm really trying not to be negative. Got to try harder tomorrow

I hope things improve for you at work Stewy

CIGNA Behavioral Health suggest that you make a list of your concerns and rehearse the conversation with your boss

The website for the full article was work.chronic. com

If I can find it I will post it

Work pressures are commonplace, you can't let it stress you out! Do the best job you can do and try to have some satisfaction in that...you can do this job!

Hi Stewy, there is no shame or guilt in doing the best you can do. If doing your best is not enough for this person, that is something you may need to eventually address down the road. Wishing you the best.

Don't take it personally. We are all human and make mistakes/fall behind at times. Do your best and focus on the present. When your at work focus on that. When your home try to relax. The more stressed out you are the more mistakes you will make. The extended hours you work do not help either. Be in the present because you can't control the future. No sense in worrying about it. Easier said then done. I had a similar work panic attack earlier this year. I have learned a lot trying get to regroup myself.

Stewy can I ask you a question? If you could do any job at all, what would that job be and why would you enjoy doing it?
